What To Do When You’re Social Distancing

With kids out of school and everything basically shut down around us, I’ve been scouring my brain and the Internet for various ideas and activities to keep everyone happy, healthy and sane! I wanted to share the list I’ve come up with in hopes you can find some of these topics useful during this transition into social distancing. I hope this helps! * Walk your dog (don’t forget to clean up their poo!)

* Go for a run, maintaining distance

* Write in a journal

* Do outdoor yoga on your porch or lawn

* Garden — its spring! Clean out your garden, plant new things

* Make a new recipe you’ve been wanting to try

* Have a bake off with your family (you can even do this with friends/family through social media of group video chat!)

* Tackle your household task list

* Reorganize your closet

* Do an art/craft project

* Learn an instrument

* Play board games

* Play video games

* Kids can go to https://www.gonoodle.com and do some fun exercise videos and play educational games

* Play cards

* Put together a puzzle

* Organize your photos on your phone/computer

* Do your taxes 

* Makes slime

* Make a movie

* Make a TikTok

* Write some letters

* Empty your junk mail box

* Play kickball/basketball/tennis with your family maintaining distance from others

* Go on a bicycle ride

* Have a picnic 

* Wipe down/disinfect light switches, door handles, phones, faucets, other frequently touched items like remotes, keyboards and computer mouse

* Video chat with friends and family using FaceTime, Google Chat, Facebook Video Chat, House Party, etc…

* Make a poster with your daily/weekly schedule 

* Put on a fashion show

* Makoevers!

* Mani-Pedi’s in your house

* Listen to a podcast

* Listen to an audiobook

* Color with chalk outside

* Wash your car

* Wash your windows

* Spring Cleaning

* Help kids with their homeschooling assignments 

* Play with your pets

* Have a karaoke jam session at home

* Knit a blanket

* Start a vegetable or herb garden

* Make bath bombs 

Remember if you’re out at a park or in your neighborhood that you maintain 6 feet distance between you an anyone outside of your immediate household. Wash your hands frequently and carry hand sanitizer with you for those moments you need to wash but don’t have access to a sink. Don’t touch your face!
